The Barbados Aquatic Sports Association (BASA) is the FINA approved governing body for Swimming, Water Polo, Open Water and Artistic Swimming in Barbados. Managed by a Counsel of elected members, BASA promotes the culture of aquatics by creating opportunities for swimmers and coaches of all backgrounds to participate and advance in aquatic sports through clubs, events and learn-to-swim programmes.
An active sport in Barbados since the early 1900’s, water polo is currently going through a period of re-growth and re-generation, and is enjoyed by seniors, juniors and beginners alike.
The youngest discipline currently practicing at the Aquatic Centre, artistic swimming is actively recruiting individuals interested in the more artistic side of aquatics.
